Upgrades

My upgrade just cleared for my flight from Chicago to Hong Kong. That's almost a 16 hour flight, so I'm very happy that the upgrade cleared. Business class would have been more than fine for the flight, but first class will be even nicer. It makes travel just a little bit easier.

I'm getting very spoiled from all of this company travel... staying at nice hotels, flying business class, and eating in nice restaurants. I'm a bit concerned that I will not be able to travel in the same standard for my future vacations. Of course, that's not an issue because I can't foresee myself wanting to travel anywhere international in the near future.

I'm waitlisted for my upgrades on the return flight. I purposely booked the Singapore to SFO flight that stops in Tokyo, Narita airport even though the upgrades almost never clear for those flights. Why would I do that, you ask? Because there is this sushi restaurant in the airport that has the best sushi I have ever eaten. And yes, it is totally worth it, even if my first class upgrade doesn't clear.
